Beaches, natural richness and cultural inheritance are attractions of the Nayarit coastRiviera Nayarit, beach and cultural zone in the coast of the Mexican Pacific, has beaches, cultural richness and infrastructure for unparallel vacations.
Among sand and waves, Riviera offers the visitors a touristic corridor of 320 kilometers of fun, biodiversity and first-lass services starting in Nuevo Vallarta and ending in Playa de Novilleros.
Besides of its coasts, Riviera has a great cultural richness thanks to its communities of Huichol, Cora, Mexicanero and Tepehuano peoples, who preserved the pre-Hispanic customs and traditions for the region after the Spanish conquest.
This destination comprises the municipalities of Bahía de Banderas, Compostela, San Blas, Santiago Ixcuintla and Tecuala, each one of them with attractive natural scenarios, among which Nuevo Vallarta, Flamingos, the fishing town of Bucerías and La Cruz de Huanacaxtle (where there is the new Marina) stand out.
Other sites of great relevance are Destiladeras, waves for surfers in Sayulita and San Francisco, Costa Banderas, biodiversity of Punta Raza or the quiet waving of Rincón de Guayabitos.
Punta Mita, axis of luxury and hospitality of Riviera Nayarit, contrasts with the adventure and biodiversity offered by places such as Punta Raza, Rincón de Guayabitos (a bay of very peaceful waves), estuaries of El Capomo, the town of Chacala, or Punta Custodio, where kayak can be practiced as well as the release of turtles.
Bird watchers invariably go to San Blas, which besides to the colonial history, it has a great natural richness, as well as Playa Novilleros, with almost 90 km of fine sand.
But that is not everything in the Riviera, since bays such as Matanchen offer delightful dishes, and the visitors can know the Nayarit culture in sites such as Costa Santiago or the famous Island of Mexcaltitán, which besides to its beauty in 400 m of diameter, is considered by some historians as the legendary Aztlán, cradle of the Aztecs.
Golf courses, spas and shops are mixed with adventure activities, whales sighting, fishing, release of turtles and gastronomy. The Mexican Pacific offers, for the bolder ones, activities such as zip line, diving and swimming with dolphins.
Riviera Nayarit, besides, is governed with respect towards the natural resources, the environment and the endemic species, for which its hotels, restaurants and parks operate with social and ecological awareness, while they receive the luxury tourism.
In some zones, waves are a delight for surfing, and the sea bed allows expeditions by diving or the practice of snorkel. We can also mention sailing and sportive fishing; and for those who seek peace, there are tours by the beach during the sunset, or kayak along the corridor.
